Things are going to get more expensive nowadays. The government is going to raise GST to 7% instead of the 5%.

So imagine you dine at a fine restaurant which charge GST and on top of that a 10% service charge. So if a meal cost you $100, you have to fork out extra $7 for GST then from there another 10% service charge. It's really 'fine dinning' from now on. Less 'fine dinning' for me from now on.

I wonder why there is a need for Goods Service Tax in the first place. Maybe someone can enlighten me.
