Levy RM$20 Cancelled

According to Minister for International Trade and Industry Rafidah Aziz, who is in Singapore on a business visit, the recent proposal to levy a RM20 tax on foreign cars entering Johor with effect from September 1 has been scrapped.

This is the part of the news that was taken down from Channel News Asia

That's the news that most Singaporean motorist have been waiting for. It's not logical for Malaysia to start collecting a fee for Singapore Cars entering JB. Why so many Singaporeans cross the bridge to JB everyday? It's because their stuff are cheaper. If Malaysia start collecting a fee, less Singaporeans would drive in to spend.

My friends used to drive in Johor for late night supper. Imagine paying RM$20 more just to have late night supper! I rather stay in Singapore and have supper. It's going to be cheaper and I don't have to travel so much further just for food and to top up the petrol.

Guess I'm not the only one that's happy. There's sure many Singaporeans and Malaysians alike.

Argh! Foot Rot!

I always thought I would suffer from Foot Rot again after National Service. Seems like it's back and creating quite a big stir in my life.

I first got Foot Rot thanks to the time I served in the army. Maybe it's because I didn't take good care of my feet or rather I have too limited socks thus germs started to attack my smelly and wet feet. My Foot Rot was so bad during that National Service that I was excused from wearing boots for weeks. Hey, my poor feet was bleeding from all the scratching. It's darn itchy I tell you.

Not sure why it's back right now. Was it because of my socks or my shoes? I have no idea. There's this cream called the Zarin Cream which was administered to me when I last saw the doctor. No worries. It's not from donkey years back. Got it from my doctor when I last saw him in March. It's suppose to be effective against Ring Worms, Athlete's Foot, White Spots etc. Used almost half the tube but it doesn't seems very effective as it's still itchy and bleeding.

I'm dying to give my itchy feet a good scratch. Maybe puting some snake powder would help the itch. Any known medication on the market that can cure Foot Rot and stop the itch at the same time?

Think it's time to make another trip to the local pharmacy and shop for medication.

Kids Nowadays

Nowadays kids childhood are packed with extra activities. No longer do they have their fun filled childhood building sand castles and day dreaming.

Take a look at the video and you would understand!

Charity in Bad Light

Seems like there's more and more charity organisation that's been investigated for the mis-use of public funds.

First there's famous NKF and now Youth Challenge is under probe as well. Are business man so despicable to use the name of charity and reap profits from it. Seems like the case to me.

It's going to take some time for Singaporeans to start donating again.

New Toy?

A new toy had just been launched by Dopod. Always wanted a pda phone but because there's none that's come with 3G, I've been putting off it. Now with this new toy, everything that I ever wanted had finally arrived.

Now the question is when will I have the cash to get it?

Crushed but Not Defeated

Competition between people is what makes the world improve. I remember during my schooling days, I'm keen in being the best of the best. No matter in studies, in sports, I would want to be in the top 10. It's not easy but it's the competition that pushes me on.

I enjoy the competition, the team spirit, the team work that everyone put in to reach our goals. Once in awhile, I'll be crushed. Defeated. Tired. Frustrated. And I'm feeling that right now. I'm confused as to what the future might hold for me. It's the same feeling. Unsure of the unknown. Fear of being a failure.

Is it time for me to move on to another chapter of my life? Am I running in circles? Only time would tell. I may be crushed but not defeated.

Busy Busy Busy

It's been quite awhile since I last touch my blog. Been too busy thanks to the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Meetings. Doesn't know if the results of the meeting would affect me but all of Singapore are gearing up for this major event.

My leave is freeze, I have to perform extra hours at work and attend strange training sessions. I know it's an important event and I do hope all our efforts would be recognise and put the little red dot on the world map.

Recent terror crackdown by the UK Police is not putting me at ease either. Security are now at it's highest ever after 911. There's checks everywhere. No matter which MRT station that I went to during the National Day, I can see armed Police in groups of 3 or 4. Sniff dogs can be seen with them as well. Whether it put us at ease or is giving us more tension in our daily lives, I don't know.

Are we prepared should a bomb go off somewhere in Singapore. This I do not know. What I do know is try to avoid the crowded areas. That means no fireworks, no Christmas and New Year countdown. Yeah I know, I'm just being a Kiasu Singaporean.

More Bad New for Motorist

As if I have not get enough bad news this week. Besides Bus and MRT fare going to raise, ERP also set to increase.

Don't tell me it's because petrol price increase so ERP have to increase as well. Double shock for road users!

Raise Price Here and There

SBS and SMRT had submitted their application to raise their fares. They are going to raise the maximum allowed fare as they did last year. News had it that the new fare will kick in on the 1st Oct.

Money not enough man. I need to go sell my backside at Phuket already. Over spend this month again.
