Missing?

Where's that starhub wireless network when I need it the most? It's been missing for an hour now. My n80 couldn't detect it.

I'm so bored now. There is not a single soul over here. I'm falling asleep. I feel so crippled without internet access.

Lazy Sunday

It's another day spent at wild wild wet, downtown east. Applied sun block before heading out to the shiok pool. It's a lesson learnt the hard way. Didn't apply sun block last sunday and I was quite badly burned. The skin was still peeling from last week burns.

So guess I'm a little smarter after the lesson. There was suppose to be a no photo taking rule in wild wild wet but I still saw quite a few flashes here and there. Since everyone was breaking every single rule that was laid down, I pulled out my handy n80 and took this 2 photos for my blog.

Not very well taken but still better than nothing right.

Codes, Codes and More Codes

Been going through codes and more codes for blogger self help site. There seems to be tons of them out there online. Don't know which codes are the correct one. Trying out quite a few but it just doesn't seem quite right.

That's something which I hate. Time is wasted right here and I can't get the correct code. Maybe I should just give up and stick to the current one. It's simple and nice anyway.

I'm just plain lazy to go through all that codes and wonder what they are suppose to do!

Wild Wild Wet

Spend my Sunday at Wild Wild Wet Downtown East. It's the only water theme park in Singapore. I've got free tickets from the chalet that I've book in April.

Quite enjoyable as there was not as many people as I expect. After all it's a Sunday, family day. Didn't take any pictures as there's a strict policy which stated that there's no photo taking in the park.

The only souvenir I got from the park was sun burn which needed immediate attention. Must remember to put sun block the next time I go.

Rotten Day

It's suppose to be a wonderful day. I'm refreshed and so ready to step out of my house for my shift. It's going to be a long 14hr at work but I'm prepared for it, almost.

The sky was overcast when I last check it. I thought that I might still be able to make it to work on my bike before it rain. Half way to the carpark, it started pouring. Tough luck. Still got enough time to catch a cab then. Nothing going to spoil my mood that day.

I waited for bloody 15mins before 2 cabs appeared. It's empty and they refused to stop and pick me! What's their problem man? I'm starting to panic. In the end, I gave up and called for a cab. It took him last than 5mins to reach my place.

Are those rotten taxi drivers circling around my area waiting for people to call cabs? I know it's peak hours now. Calling a cab cost $4 and $2 for the peak hour. Before I started my journey, the cab fare was already $8.50! It's so bloody expensive!

A normal journey from my place to Changi Airport cost about $10. Thanks to all those riduclus charges, the journey took $19.50! After doing some calculations, it's make more sense to report late for work rahter than call a cab. It's going to be the first and last time I'm calling a cab during peak hour just to get to work.

All thanks to the weather and the lousy charges!

I'm very surprise to see this familiar face on Straits Times. He's been in Japan for the past 3 years, on a scholarship. We hang around during our orientation days as GL in polytechnic. Those were the happy days! Stress free and we did what we always wanted and that's to have fun!

Most of our camp t-shirts were designed by him actually. He's a natural when comes to design. I wonder if I still had those T-shirts in my wardrobe somewhere. I'm happy for him. Guess his parents must be so proud of him now. At least he's been recognised for all his hard work. Long hours sometimes get in the way but still the gang would meet up with him when he's back home for a holiday.

He must give us a treat the next time he come back. Here's a link to his blog in cyber land should you want to know more about his work.

Man, in coma after April accident, dies

Labels:

It's sad to learn that another good man just pass away because of a foolish act by the taxi driver. It's a small world in Singapore. Turns out that the driver was a friend of another friend and we were actually linked by friendster.

All this could be avoided if both drivers co-operate with one another and exchanged their particulars and let the insurance company do their own investigation. This incident also reminded me on my accident.

The taxi driver, after knocking into me also refused to exchange particulars. What's there to be afraid of? The victim seeking revenge on him and his family? I don't know what's the instructions from the taxi company to their drivers when accidents happen. Keep quiet, take down the other party particulars and just walk away without offering assistance to the injured?

It came as a surprise that a traffic police officer told me that I just need to take down the taxi licence plate. There's been advertisements telling drivers to exchange particulars in an event when there's no injured in an accident. What would you think if a taxi driver just told you that all you need was his car licence plate?

Any person would want to stop the taxi and take down his particulars. That's what a sensible person would do anyway. So what's so hard in exchanging particulars in an event of an accident? Just take some photos of the damaged vehicle and let the insurance company handle the rest.

Time Share Program

I sworn once long long time ago never to sit through another time share presentation which promote cheap hotel and resort stay around the world. And there I was, sitting though a 2hr presentation by a time share company last night.

I was burnt badly before. Humiliated, teased at and u name it.. It's donkey years ago but I remember it clearly. I was shopping with a girl friend when someone ask us to take part in a survey with a lucky draw. We were made to believe that we won something and had to just collect the prize nearby. To cut the old wives tales short, we sat through a 90 min unpleasant mental torture and got a lousy gift. As I had just finish my guard duty that day, I sat there like an idiot with the sales person poking fun at me. Since then I sworn to stay away from time share presentations and give hell to sales people who didn't understand the word NO.

I hate the under hand method that they used to push thier program. I was young and ignorant but not anymore.

Back to last night. The lady was pleasant enough and knew when to back off when I said no. At least it's not like those low class time share company which uses hard selling methods. The staff were very professional and understanding. I'm amazed throughout the presentation. Talk about being a well known brand in the hotel industry, they sure carry themselves well.

When it came to the price of the whole package, I'm stunned as well. It's many times the amount I'm earning. Peanuts to them but it's sure a huge amount for me.

A poor man like me, couldn't afford such an expensive lifestyle. Maybe a few years down the road when I'm more financially stable then I'll explore this option again.
